Located next to 16th century school buildings with the River Brue nearby, the Queen Elizabeth Music School was constructed on the site of an old open air swimming pool, partially enclosed by listed stone walls. Construction work comprised of demolitions, piling, precast concrete floors, steel frame, brick, cedar and oak cladding, sedum roof, zinc cladding and roofing, mechanical and electrical services. Internally there is a recital hall, practice rooms, classrooms, recording studio and offices. The listed courtyard retained natural stone elements.
